MMOs---Why we hate them!
MMOs have been around for a long time. But, there are some aspects to them that EVERYONE hates! For example: Pay to Play. I understand that after years of hard work, companies like Blizzard (which makes the Diablo and WoW series) , want to make a profit. But why can't it just be pay one fee, not paying 15 dollars a month! This makes it hard for teenagers to convince their parents to let them play. Another stupid part of MMOs, mostly RPGs, is the lame look of some weapons. In Runescape, you cannot tell the difference between a short sword and a longsword. Weapons also sometimes have different names and effects, but look exactly like a different item. How can other players know what it is and possibly trade for it! I program, so I know for a fact that it would not take too long for them to change up the appearances a bit. Also, water textures absolutely stink! In some games you can't even go in water, while in others, when you do, you just walk in it. Why not make a swimming motion, duh? Finally, why is it always about killing? Can't there be some peaceful, nonviolent quests? I like killing evil dragons just as much as the next guy, but at a point, watching you're character smack a bad guy with a virtual sword becomes boring and aimless. MMOs need some non-battle related items and skills. Speaking of aimlessly attacking, is it just me or does having no control of how you're character fights boring. Pointing and clicking can get really boring! So, these are the reasons why MMOs need to change!
